Vision and Design

Designing Nomada as a hand-crafted hotel and artistic haven of creativity is our statement of activism in a town that is overbuilding past the point of sustainability.

The unique blend of Moroccan and Mexican architecture, individually themed rooms, and beautiful lawn, gardens, and yoga shala, is a design aesthetic not often seen in this area.

Lately, Sayulita has been subjected to inconsiderate and exploitative development built only to extract wealth from tourists. New hotels and condos are often built taller than permitted, ignoring and manipulating local laws, building on every last inch of ground without adequate water or parking. Most of these new buildings are unattractive, boxy, assembly-line productions. To maximize return, non-local developers maximize scale while sacrificing style in order to sell out Sayulita.

We hope to inspire future developers to invest in Sayulita’s overall welfare and aesthetic. There is more to life than the bottom line.
